A Protopalatial Building

During rescue excavation works prior to the construction of the paths, part of an important protopalatial building was discovered, dated to the Middle Minoan IIA which included three column bases. This structure constitutes the first indication of palatial architecture outside of the palace at Petras. Various movable finds suggest that this area was connected to the cult.
